I have tried to make a purchase but the transaction has declined. Why?

When Oxipay approve a new purchase they do a few checks for you to determine if:

  • the purchase is within the maximum purchase limit ($1,500);
  • whether the total of your instalment payment(s) will exceed $250 per fortnight; and
  • the maximum amount of all Oxipay balances owing you currently have with us is not more than $1,000.

These checks are in place to ensure your repayments are easy to manage and friendly on your wallet.

Other reasons why your transaction could decline could be due to general system or website errors, or you have not registered for Oxipay.

Why have I been declined?

There are several reasons why you could be declined for Oxipay:

  • you do not live in New Zealand
  • you are not 18 years or older
  • you do not have a New Zealand mobile number
  • you are not using a Mastercard or Visa credit or debit card that has been issued in New Zealand
  • we have not been able to verify your identity

The Loan Contract will incorporate the terms and conditions set out in the schedule to these customer terms. Genoapay does not guarantee a successful approval of any Loan Application.
  • You agree and acknowledge that if you receive notification from Genoapay that a transaction has been completed, you are bound to complete the purchase of the relevant goods and/or services and the Merchant is bound to complete the transaction and supply the relevant goods and/or services.

Settlement

  • Your Loan will be deemed to be advanced to you (by way of settlement of the sale and purchase of the goods and/or services with the relevant Merchant) immediately after Genoapay has provided you and the relevant Merchant with a notification confirming that the transaction has been completed.
